This last weekend was the spring retreat for Campus Crusade. Being responsible for playing music during the weekend meant that I was unable to complete the mounds of homework I had before leaving Friday evening since music needed to be picked. I was able to complete some homework while at the retreat and on Monday my Machine Design teacher pushed back collecting some homework that I hadn't finished yet till the quiz this coming Thursday (today).
This past Sunday, while at the retreat, we heard that a friend of our's Dad had passed on and many of us went to the viewing on Tuesday evening (They are a strong Christian family and know that their father/husband is now cancer free in heaven. Still hard just the same.). This meant that the homework I hadn't gotten done on the weekend and any that had been given on Monday was pushed aside in favor of being there for my friend (a small amount was completed but almost negligible in the scheme of things).
This week was the week selected for me to speak at Campus Crusade at the Wednesday night meeting (first time ever!) so Wednesday I spent almost all of my free time writing and planning out this talk. Needless to say, God granted me the words I needed to say and it all went smoothly. Only God fully knows the impact it has had.
My talk at Cru was on trifling with sin and counting the cost of following Christ. One of the promises I advocated we follow literally was Mathew 6:33.
33But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.I challenged that we should even place school work below spending time with God.
Now this morning I forgot to eat breakfast (weird, I know.). The thought went through my mind that maybe I should fast today but I kind of pushed it aside and went to a club meeting in hopes of getting a free lunch. Guess what. They were out of pizza. I took it as a confirmation that God was saying that He really did want me to fast today so I plopped myself on the lawn, took out my Bible, read some, prayed some, all along knowing that any other sane person would have been trying to get homework done for the classes that I had right after lunch.
By this time I had surrendered to the fact I was going to have to take a points hit. Anyway, the first class I had after lunch didn't ask for any homework to be turned in. Interesting. It is only the second time this term that it has happened. It passed through my mind that maybe this was God’s doing. Machine Design was the next class. I have been struggling in this class and only recently began to possibly grasp the subject matter and not only had I not had time to do the homework, there was a quiz. Imagine my surprise when a student walks in and says rather flamboyantly that he is going to get the teacher to move the quiz to Monday because he has already taken four quizzes today. My heart skips a beat. Could God possibly work another miracle? After some class discussion the teacher relented. Then I wondered if we would still have to turn in our homework anyway. He then mentioned that he would collect the homework with the quiz! Seriously. How amazing is that.
I stand here and testify to my God’s faithfulness in my life. Take it anyway you want but I have no doubt that what could have been a seriously bad day grade wise turned out much better than I could have dreamed because God is faithful.
I challenge you today to grab a hold of the promises of God. If God cannot lie, then let us lean on these promises with full confidence that He will fulfill them.
May God continue to sustain and build you up in the faith!

Dang. That is totally awesome!!! God rocks, eh? Glad your speech went ok, but I say, there is nothing like a rough week to bring out God's faithfulness. I definitely have a few stories of my own like this. Thanks for sharing yours!
That is fantastic... thanks for sharing! God is awesome, and if there's anything I love it's hearing stories that testify to that. My favorite part of the story was when they were out of pizza. Isn't it funny when things happen in such a way that we could write them off as luck or coincidence except we know better.
God honors those who honor Him. Keep it up!
